To escape him she shoulders the blame for the embezzlement committed by a friend, then takes a job as a nurse to elderly Mrs. Cameron. Julia discovers that there is a plot by Usher against Mrs. Cameron, whose nephew is none other than Robert Addis. Though threatened by Usher, she reveals the evidence--thus saving Mrs. Cameron's life--and is united with Robert when Usher is killed by detectives.
